(Multi-)Touch screen is a very fancy interface. Some people don't have the chance to live its superb experience as it is expensive. So there should be a way to bring that joy to non-touch-screened devices. TASWYC is the way! The user moves object against camera then the app reflects movements to on-screen pointer.

TASWYC consists of two modules:

- TAS Key: A virtual touch keypad for writing instead of using the ordinary keypad.
- TAS Proof: A simple prototype of the famous graph game “Planarity” to test drag and drop.

Rheumatoid Arthritis, Multiple Sclerosis : Therapy Developed

team of researchers at the Institute of Parasitology and Biomedicine of the Supreme Council of Spanish Scientific Research (CSIC), Grenada, has managed to develop in a mouse cell therapy for rheumatoid arthritis and multiple sclerosis, two major autoimmune diseases.

For the two experimental models considered, scientists were able to eliminate the arthritis symptoms and lead to a reversion of the degenerative process.

The arthritis therapy uses a certain type of cells (dendritic cells) which, when injected into animals affected by these disorders, producing regulatory T cells (Treg cells), responsible for the maintenance of immunological tolerance.

Scientific CSIC and the head of the research team, Mario Delgado, explains: "The analysis of cellular mechanisms revealed that these dendritic cells produced in animals treated Treg new cells which act to neutralize the immune cells which, in the case of rheumatoid arthritis, attack components of the joints, or in the case of multiple sclerosis, attack the myelin sheaths of the nerves. Rheumatoid Arthritis : Yes To Alcohol, Not Smoking

wo Scandinavian studies reach the same conclusion: moderate consumption of alcohol may reduce the risk of suffering from rheumatoid arthritis and smoking would have the opposite effect.

Some Swedish researchers analyzed data from two clinical trials conducted in Sweden and Denmark. A total of 1 648 people with rheumatoid arthritis and 1 404 subjects who did not suffer responded to a questionnaire about their lifestyle and provided a blood sample.

According to the results, subjects who consumed the equivalent of five glasses of wine or more per week ran from 40% to 50% less likely to be suffering from rheumatoid arthritis compared to the subjects who drank less alcohol.

This protective effect was more pronounced among smokers, smoking is a risk factor for the rheumatoid arthritis disease. Indeed, a link between smoking and rheumatoid arthritis, among those who consumed little or no alcohol, was observed in both studies.

Quitting smoking is the best way to reduce the rheumatoid arthritis risk of suffering from this rheumatoid arthritis disease, say the authors of the study.

If they believe that moderate drinkers should not reduce their consumption of alcohol, the researchers remind that excessive consumption has adverse effects on health.

Rheumatoid arthritis can appear at any age, but the first symptoms usually occur between 40 and 60 years of age.

Exercise Recommended For Fight Against Arthritis

he exercise will not only maintain its heart and its silhouette from age but it would ensure prevention against arthritis among women, according to a new Australian study.

More elderly woman because of the arthritis exercise, the more its chances of avoiding arthritis pain are large, arthritis is one of the most prevalent diseases in western countries.

An hour and a quarter of arthritis exercise per week is enough to make a difference on the next three years, according to the study published in the journal Research and Therapy of arthritis.

"I do not think these results mean that we must become a madman exercise," said its chief author Kristiann Heesch from the University of Queensland, Australia. "What it suggests is that we can derive great benefit to walking and taking a moderate activity daily."

Doctors have always encouraged arthritis exercise among older subjects to maintain the flexibility of joints, muscles and avoid gaining weight, risk factors for arthritis.

The Australian study looked at the case of fifty women and the elderly who did not know a problem stiff or sore joints. It focused on the pain and arthritis symptoms of over 8700 Australian, over three years.

The septuagénaires who were 75 minutes of arthritis exercise per week showed fewer arthritis symptoms than those who practiced less physical activity. Women alerts that are active at least two and a half hours per week have suffered much less during the next three years.

Although the direct correlation between arthritis exercise and lower joint pain seems real, the reasons for this link are not yet clear. "Maybe that physical activity acts positively on the joints.

Maybe that arthritis exercise reduces the sensitivity of sensory sensors in the subject that feels less pain, "advance Dr. John Hardin, scientific officer of the Arthritis Foundation, which has not participated in this study .

Conversely, the exercise has produced no effect on symptoms of arthritis in fifty years without Kristiann Heesch could clarify the difference between the two age groups. The findings also contradict previous studies that had shown no direct link between sport and arthritis.

Galapagos, J & J in Potential Arthritis $ 1 Billion Deal

ohnson & Johnson, the maker of the arthritis medicine Remicade, may pay Belgian biotechnology company Galapagos NV as much as $ 1 billion to develop treatments for rheumatoid arthritis. Galapagos shares had a record jump.
